- This mail list was my idea, however, I have no special rights or powers.
- This is a forum for discussion which will eventually use a voting system to
- produce a document(s) recommending how to implement a GEM user interface.
- The main theme of my proposal was to incorporate the German and Atari style
- guides as documented in The Profibuch and The Atari Compendium. If you
- check some German programs you will see that the majority follow the
- Profibuch standard.
-
- You were on my first batch of (e)mailshots. I mailed
- 75300.1131@compuserve.com, if this is not a valid address then I am sorry.
- A day later I posted the same message on comp.sys.atari.st, which was
- followed the next day on c.s.a.s.tech. I also mailed the IAAD the first
- proposal. I believe the reason you joined late was due to the IAAD trying
- to decide how to respond to this mail list.

- This will cause problems with modeless dialogues. It also goes against the
- German and Atari style guide.
-
- >So, I guess that the next step for us is just to wait for the key file
-
- I hope you do support the new standard. Otherwise you will increase the
- great division that already exists between Europe and US Atari software.
- The idea of this list was to bring them closer.

- It IS standard.

-
- Not true, they work perfectly. STZIP is the only one I know of that is a
- mess.

- Non-standard. No go. Look at LEF, Mag!X, AtariWorks, Calligrapher, Papyrus,
- Everest, Edith...

-
- Non-standard and I can't see how this will work.
-

- Maybe we should...
-

-
- And what do we do about all the German programs?
-
- Bye,
